Course Background

This course will show you how to integrate your Human Factors Engineering knowledge and skills into the design and development of systems.

This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF).

You will need to have completed the course ‘Human Factors Theory and Practice‘ in order to take this course, or have equivalent experience.

Please contact the course Instructor if you believe you have sufficient background knowledge to tackle this course.

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the ‘Human Factors Integration’ basis for the design and development of systems
  • Utilise a systems approach to the human aspects of the specification, design, assessment and acceptance of products, services and human factors interventions
  • Understand the requirements for safety systems, the concepts of risk, risk assessment and risk management
  • Supervise the application and evaluation of an Human Factors Integration Plan

This course has three assignments that should take you 2-3 hours each to complete. The assignments will be marked and reviewed by the Instructor, who will give you feedback on your progress. A pass mark is required on each assignment before the course can be completed.

Each module also has an ‘open book’ test which requires an 80% pass mark in order to proceed to the next stage of the course.

At the end of the course, a certificate of completion (endorsed by Liv Systems) will be awarded.

This course comes with a PDF booklet for each module.

This course was excellent and delivered at a depth that was easy to understand, follow and use in my day to day work. It gave me confidence that I was moving in the right direction with my HF learning and enabled the pieces of the jigsaw to fall into place. Really enjoyed this and was lucky that some aspects I was doing in my work just as the training reached that point (e.g. In-Service Review).
